The Novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary honors the purest heart of the Mother of God, all love for God and for humanity. The Heart of Mary is a safe refuge, a path that leads to the Heart of Jesus, and a perfect model of faith, hope, and charity. From the apparitions of Fatima to the tradition of the First Saturdays, the Church invites consecration to this maternal Heart, offering acts of reparation for the sins of the world and asking for the conversion of sinners. For nine days, the faithful contemplate the virtues of Mary, seek to conform their lives to the Gospel, and plead for the renewal of the Church and the world under the mantle of the Virgin.
Traditionally prayed **from the Thursday following the solemnity of Corpus Christi to the following Friday**, culminating in the liturgical feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Saturday following the second Sunday after Pentecost). Each day begins with the Act of Contrition and the initial prayer to the Immaculate Heart; then the specific intention and reflection are proclaimed, and the prayer of the day is recited. To conclude, the ejaculation or the daily final prayer can be added. After the nine days, the litany to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is prayed with its verse and concluding prayer. It is recommended to go to confession, participate in the Eucharist, pray the Rosary, and offer small sacrifices in reparation to the Heart of Mary.
