Jesus revealed to Saint Faustina Kowalska the Novena to the Divine Mercy and requested that it be prayed from Good Friday until the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday. Each day, different groups of souls are offered to the Merciful Heart of Jesus, imploring His compassion and praying the Chaplet. It is a spiritual itinerary of absolute trust in the redemptive love of Christ and a call to practice mercy with others.
From Good Friday to the Saturday before Divine Mercy Sunday: 1) Sign of the Cross and act of contrition; 2) Initial prayer indicating to Jesus to whom the day is offered; 3) Reading of the daily intention and reflection taken from the Diary of Saint Faustina; 4) Prayer dictated by Jesus for that day; 5) Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy (Eternal Father…); 6) Daily final prayer; 7) Litany of Divine Mercy with its verse and concluding prayer. Confession, communion, and works of mercy are recommended during the novena.
