The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac (Mexico) from December 9 to 12, 1531, leaving her image imprinted on the tilma and offering comfort and hope to the entire American continent. From December 3 to 11, this novena prepares for the great feast on December 12, delving into the message of love, unity, and evangelization that the 'Little Dark One of Tepeyac' entrusted to her children.
Pray the novena from December 3 to 11: 1) Sign of the Cross and act of contrition; 2) Initial prayer to the Virgin of Guadalupe; 3) Reading of the intention and reflection specific to the day; 4) Prayer of the day; 5) (optional) Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be; 6) Daily final prayer; 7) Guadalupan litany and concluding prayer. During the novena, it is recommended to participate in the Eucharist, pray the rosary, and practice works of mercy, especially with the poorest, as the Virgin requested.
